New for 2022 from CCM are the AS580 hockey pants. These pants offer a good middle ground between high-performance protection and a more wallet-friendly price. Features offered on the AS580 include premium 400D nylon, a sublimated comfort liner, and a max coverage Anatomical Shield Design.
External Materials
The exterior of the pads has been furnished with premium 400D nylon, as well as abrasion-resistant side panels. This is a tough nylon weave that is also featured on the AS-V Pro at the highest price point, so you know you are getting some of the best material CCM provides for hockey protective gear. The Anatomical Shield Design ensures the pants can move and mold with your movements while keeping you fully protected during the game.
Thigh Protection
A PE plastic cap and PE foam protect your thighs from impact when falling or battling for the puck. The strong foam and plastic offer a high level of protection and mobility, ensuring you can play your best during the game.
Hip Protection
The AS580 uses JDP hip caps to disperse force away from the point of impact and your hip joints, keeping you protected and comfortable when up against hard shots and tough blows in board battles.
Spine Protection
The spine is secured with the use of an exposed foam spine protector, offering competitive-level protection to your back while you play. With a seamless transition from the rest of the pants to the spine, the tail pad provides elite protection while keeping you comfortable.
Kidney Protection
Molded PE caps provide elite-level protection for the kidneys. The caps’ molded framework and sublimated comfort liner add some softness to the kidney area, effectively making them much more pleasant to play hockey in.
Belt/Lace Closure
The adjustable integrated belt is made of tough nylon and secures the pants on your person while you play.
Leg Zippers
For growing players, CCM has included a one-inch zipper extension on the AS580, which will add length to their gear in the future. In addition, the inner zipper has been optimized and repositioned to lessen friction on crossovers.
Sizes & Colors
The CCM Tacks AS580 Senior Hockey Pants come in Black, Navy, and Red in all sizes (Small, Medium, Large, XLarge, and XXLarge). Royal colour is only available in Small, Medium, and Large, and XXLarge size is only available in Black.
